Two new records of spider mites (Acari: Tetranychidae) from Iran
Toxicity of Pogostemon Parviflorus (benth) and Polygonum Hydropiper (l) on Developemetal Stages of Red Spider Mite (oligonychus Coffeae, Neitner) (acarina: Tetranychidae) on Tea
A study was conducted during 2009-10 to assess the toxicity of chloroform extracts of Pogostemon parviflorus (Benth.) and Polygonum hydropiper (L) against red spider mite (Oigonychus coffeae, Neitner) under laboratory condition using leaf detached method. Both the plant extracts possesed the acaricidal properties on developmental stages of red spider mite. The treatment with both plant extracts...
متن کامل"Inert" formulation ingredients with activity: toxicity of trisiloxane surfactant solutions to twospotted spider mites (Acari: Tetranychidae).
Organosilicone molecules are important surfactant ingredients used in formulating pesticides. These methylated silicones are considered inert ingredients, but their superior surfactant properties allow them to wet, and either suffocate or disrupt important physiological processes in mites and insects. Aqueous solutions of the tri-siloxane surfactants Silwet L-77, Silwet 408, and Silwet 806 were...
متن کاملSex Allocation: Size Matters for Red Spider Mites
Many animals can adjust the sex ratio of their offspring according to their parental ability to invest. In spider mites, larger eggs are likely to be fertilized and produce diploid females, whereas smaller eggs produce haploid males.
متن کاملBIOLOGICAL CONTROL Seasonal Abundance of Spider Mites and Their Predators on Red Raspberry in Quebec, Canada
Seasonal abundance of spider mites and their predators on red raspberry was studied in 1993 and 1994 at 2 agricultural locations near Quebec City, Canada. Three raspberry systems, wild raspberry, pesticide-free cultivated raspberry, and commercial raspberry treated with a variety of pesticides, were sampled at frequent intervals. Tetranychus mcdanieli McGregor accounted for 87.5, 80.6, and 95.0...
